I just wanted to post a couple of pics of my baby's progress. She will be in need of a re-ti very soon. But until then, I will continue to brush her hair up into ponytails.

For those of you who don't know, myself & two other young women are authors to a Daily Urban Blog (Soap) Opera called Anderson Place, which is a 30-story high-rise in Detroit, Michigan. Anderson Place is the home to many local business owners, as well as to employees of the up and coming Tellinit magazine. We've been on hiatus for a year but as of September 6th, we are back in full effect. So, please, CHECK US OUT!!

My Baby's Braids...& maybe locs....

Ok, so June of last year, I installed braids on my then 2-yr-old's hair with the intention of STARTING LOCS. A few short weeks after I, yes, chickened out. The thought of re-installing 'em never left my mind. Soooooo, here we go again. Last week I put small braids in her head to, hopefully, start the locing process. My hesitation is the "in-between" stages one has to go thru before getting to the beautiful end result. For example, FRIZZ! I learned to embrace my frizz. I'm just not sure how my hubby & a few others will handle it. I think my baby would look absolutely beautiful with a healthy head full of locs. Honestly, I need to get over my issues & just do it. My hubby, surprisingly, has my back moreso this go round. He told me not to be concerned about what people say because what goes on up in our house is our business - his words exactly. Below you will find pics of the installation process as well as the results from rodding her hair last night. My goal is to be as creative as possible when creating "kid-friendly" hairstyles. What do you guys think?

**Something Simple**

For the most part I consider myself low maintenance. This is why I absolutely love, love, love my locs. I wake up, spritz w/water & sometimes a very light oil, & go. The last few days I've been sleeping w/4-5 cornrows & removing 'em in the morning. I'm so digging this look right now. The plaits really elongate my hair. Just to add a lil spice to it, I pinned two BIG clips to each side. Nothing too fancy, but I like it.

I'm in the process of learning how to crop pics & post. I cropped these pics but have no idea where to retrieve 'em. In a rush now, but will attempt later. But in the meantime...

**New Book: His Silent Rage**

T.C. Mattison & I graduated from the same high school. We didn't talk then, but we've managed to establish a friendship much later on --thanks to Facebook. I would've never thought in a million years she would become a beacon of light for me. She reached out to me & offered assistance when I was at an impasse. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

She has completed her first novel, His Silent Rage. The story is about a young man with a troubled past. Instead of working to resolve his issues he abandons them & attempts to live the life of someone else. This book will have you engrossed from start to finish with its relatable characters.

From Braidlocz to Traditional Locs

Greetings peeps.

I just wanted to give a brief update on my cousin's braidlocz. I installed his braidlocs at the beginning of the year --> SEE. And since then, he's been for a re-ti only TWICE. So imagine my frustration as I agonized about retightening his hair after going almost 4 months. So, I decided to convert from braidlocz to traditional locs, which took just 2 hours to redo as opposed to 4 possibly 5. Quite surprisingly, his hair held up well. He is definitely on his way to locing. Also, out of the gazillion on his head, only 3 of 'em unraveled. So here's a before & after look of his hair.
